We made it to Selfoss, Iceland! There are a lot of fish in Iceland. The mountain.behind this house, like most of Iceland, has no trees. That’s because this is a volcanic island and when there are eruptions the lava destroys any trees. A foreigner decided to plant Lupin to stop erosion but our guide says it’s invasive and doesn’t like it. Did Tolkien come to Iceland? That sure looks like a Hobbit house. It is a traditional house that no one lives in any longer. They lived inside with their animals, breathing smoke from their fires and didn’t live very long. We ended our evening joining the community to watch the World Cup Final. Day 2 We visited a wools studio and met a former Ag professor who now makes traditional dyes for her wool. She explained which plants made which colors. Don’t quiz us on this. The woman who has the wool studio has it in her house so that she can work 24/7.
